Uniform

There is an official uniform approved by the Governors following consultation with the Parent Staff Association, parents, staff and students. Students must wear uniform at all time when they are in school.


The school believes that a uniform has a place in a modern society in that students have a sense of purpose and a feeling of belonging to the school and the community at large. Furthermore it helps to promote high standards of work and behaviour.

• Bags
  All students are expected to carry a school bag for equipment and kit (not a handbag).
• Plain dark grey/black trousers
  NO high fashion items eg NOT jeans, denim, cords, combats, pinstripes.
• Plain black knee length skirt
  NO high fashion items eg NOT mini, ankle length, leather, suede, combat etc.
• Shirt
  White polo shirt with school logo.
• Sweatshirt
  Lower School Green V-neck sweatshirt with school logo.
  Upper School Black V-neck sweatshirt with school logo.
• Socks
  Black, grey or white. NO patterned tights.
• Shoes
  Plain sensible shoes, low heeled (3cm maximum) black only.
  NO trainers, sandals or boots. NO black shoes with logos. Black plimsolls will be provided by school until appropriate footwear can be purchased.

NOT ALLOWED IN SCHOOL

• Jewellery
  For Health and Safety reasons no jewellery, except one pair of stud earrings (one in each lobe) is permitted. This includes signet rings. No body piercing, tattoos or body modification is allowed.
• Make up
  No make up is to be worn. In Upper School students may wear discreet foundation only. Discreet means that it is not noticeable.
• Hair
  Extremes of fashion, as determined by the school, eg bright colours, bands of colour, hair sculpting/tramlines, hair cut with a number 1 or no guard, will not be acceptable. Only plain green, black or white hair accessories are permitted.
• Overshirts/Sweatshirts/Hoodies
  No overshirts or sweatshirts of any kind other than the LJS sweatshirt are permitted.
