Laurence Jackson school (formerly Guisborough County Modern School ) will celebrate its Golden Jubilee in November 2008.
A working party of past and present staff are working on a series of events, under the chairmanship of Les Thomson who is currently the longest serving member of staff.
Golden Jubilee 2008

Planned events for the week so far :

Formal church service on Thursday 20th Nov. 4:00pm at St.Nicholas Church, followed by afternoon tea back at school
To re-create the walk from Providence School to the current site with ex-students and current followed by morning coffee on Monday 17th. November
A talk on the history of the school and an opportunity to look around the building again on the evening of Tuesday 18th. November
A permanent photographic exhibition to be put in reception, showing the history of the school
A sports photo exhibition in the sports centre, showing fifty years of sport at the school
A brochure giving details of the history of the school
A series of sporting events involving past students
