High quality teaching and learning produces outstanding exam results as demonstrated by our inclusion in the top 100 most improved schools in 2011.

Whilst ensuring that qualifications remain a priority, there is more to life and as a Sports College we offer a superb range of extra-curricular activities which fosters wider participation and forms part of a healthy lifestyle. Most Departments offer curricular enrichment with particular emphasis on PE/Sport and Performing Arts. We provide numerous clubs, teams, practices, visits and residentials throughout the school year – fantastic experiences, accessible to all.

Reliability, Teamwork and Leadership are three key aspects required by businesses and Colleges and LJS students are given abundant opportunities to develop these together with a range of Enterprise skills. The whole school ethos is built around good relationships founded on mutual respect and by the end of Y11, students leave LJS as resilient, creative, ambitious citizens with outstanding results and a genuine awareness of the local community.
